Maximum Efficiency, Environmental Responsibility and Low Carbon Footprint
As environmental responsibility becomes increasingly important, companies are expected to deliver solutions that combine performance with sustainability. A compelling example is Hager & Braito Lechner Strahltechnik GmbH, based in Kitzbühel. The company relies on SWARCOBLAST glass blasting granulate for the surface treatment of timber houses, furniture and other components – demonstrating how modern blasting technology and environmental awareness can go hand in hand.
Amstetten, July 1, 2024 – For the restoration of traditional timber houses in Tyrol, Salzburg and Bavaria, Lechner Strahltechnik relies on SWARCOBLAST glass blasting granulate. “SWARCOBLAST is our first choice for specialist applications. It delivers excellent results and meets our environmental expectations,” says Alexander Lechner, Managing Director of Lechner Strahltechnik GmbH.
Sustainable, Versatile, Precise
SWARCOBLAST granulate is suitable for both injector and pressure blasting systems. It enables gentle and efficient treatment of wood, concrete, metal, cast parts and even 3D-printed components. Using Ecochain Helix, SWARCO Indusferica can precisely monitor and optimise CO₂ emissions throughout production and supply chains. The result: an average carbon footprint of just 0.1 kg CO₂ eq per kg of product – significantly lower than many competitors.
Short Distances, Strong Impact
SWARCO Indusferica sources high-quality recycled glass regionally, which reduces transport distances and associated emissions. Transport is handled via a combination of road and rail. The company also uses resource-conscious packaging with a high recycling rate. Waste heat from production is repurposed to heat factory buildings or supply neighbouring businesses. The granulate itself is chemically inert – its disposal produces no significant emissions. “Circular economy and energy efficiency are top priorities for us. We do everything we can to make our products as sustainable as possible,” says Krisztian Seres, Key Account Manager at SWARCO Indusferica. SWARCOBLAST glass blasting granulate is produced from soda-lime cullet. The recycled glass (post-industrial waste) is traceable and sourced from the local vicinity of the production sites.
Best Practice: Hager & Braito Lechner Strahltechnik GmbH
Hager & Braito Lechner Strahltechnik GmbH uses SWARCOBLAST glass blasting granulate to restore timber houses in Tyrol, Salzburg and Bavaria. Alexander Lechner values the consistently high grading quality, reliable delivery volumes and personalised support from SWARCO. The granulate is used to gently remove weathering, old coatings and loose material from wooden surfaces – without damaging the grain. This allows farm parlours, historic wooden ceilings and interior elements to regain their original character – ready for a fresh finish.
