Improving the Performance of Plastics

In the automotive industry and other sectors, glass beads are used as reinforcement materials for plastics. The focus is on optimising compressive strength, increasing abrasion and scratch resistance, reducing warpage and shrinkage and improving surface appearance.

In so-called hybrid combinations of glass fibre and glass bead reinforcement, plastic compounds combine the high stiffness of glass fibre with the warpage-reducing effect of glass beads. This enables targeted enhancement of mechanical properties – resulting in durable, stable components.

Post-Industrial Waste

Another advantage: SWARCOFORCE glass filler beads meet the highest technical requirements while relying on resource-conscious raw materials. The glass used comes exclusively from post-industrial waste – high-quality surplus and offcuts from industrial glass production.

All raw materials are REACH and RoHS compliant and meet applicable EU regulations for chemicals and substances of concern. In addition, SWARCO Indusferica operates under an ISO 9001-certified quality management system, which regularly monitors compliance with quality and environmental standards.

Particle-Size Distributions Tailored to Clients’ Needs

SWARCOFORCE glass filler beads are available with a variety of surface coatings, each designed to optimise interaction with the respective plastic matrix. This enables SWARCO Indusferica to provide customised solutions for a wide range of industrial applications. A broad selection of particle sizes and narrow tolerance ranges is available. On request, grading profiles can also be developed according to customer specifications – ensuring maximum precision in both function and processing.
